FIRST STOP GANGES, SALT SPRING ISLAND

View thru the trees of Ganges harbour from our porch.

Mr. Quail, the porch, Mrs Quail: with brood foraging somewhere close by.

Juliet, Helen and Rose planting tomates: Juliet at Ganges Tuesday market: Ex-Texan, confirmed islander, Helen, Rose. and Juliet.

We are on the east side of Ganges Harbour along Scott Road. Through the trees we get a glimpse of the harbour. But most of the time I goof off watching the quail, sipping chilled Pino Gris from Salt Spring vineyards. Oh, that is except for the music. Artspring is the local theatre and art centre. One evening we were treated to a Quebec sextet rendering Joual folk songs into a rock and roll rhythm: cool, very cool!

This supposedly quiet island get-away rocks: thereĆs lots to do!

Fulford Harbour is much smaller than last time I visited: like 1955.

Picnicing Ruckle Park.

The wineries and the cheese shop.

Leaving Ganges on our way to Goldstream.
